Heltonsbanshee Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 Also how do i tell if i got stock jets? An can i use starting fluid to ckean the carbs Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk Quote
Pasi S. Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 In my opinion those are stock reeds. You need to open your carb´s to find out your jets. Stocks are 25 pilot jet, 190-210 main jet. Quote
RadarRacing Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 No on the starting fluid. It doesnt dissolve varnish, dirt very well. It also is very volatile and catches fire way too easily to be a safe cleaner. Quote
tdod101 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Take carbs apart and use carb cleaner, here's a good video on how to do it: Quote

Heltonsbanshee Posted April 4, 2014 Author Report Posted April 4, 2014 Ok well i cleaned my carbs when i took my jet out it was a 37.5 isnt that a bit hight by all means it runs great i put everything together i know the stock is 25 i got pipes k&n open filters thats it Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk Quote
tdod101 Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Try a 27.5 pilot max you'll need is 30 but I doubt it. A/S 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seeted needle at 3rd clip and try a 290 main jet Although, what kind of pipes do you have ? And what is your elevation Quote
Heltonsbanshee Posted April 4, 2014 Author Report Posted April 4, 2014 I got fmf pipes an open k&n but it runs great i was jus cleaning the filters figured id clean the carb the other 2 i didnt see any number an the one flat head deep in the hole its the only one with a number i seen so idk i dont wanna fix it if its not broken Sent from my XT897 using Tapatalk Quote
tdod101 Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 I'd get some genuine mikuni jets just for the sake of being safe, changing jets isn't going to hurt anything, for all you know you have untapped power by not changing them Quote
