38mm mikuni tm on banshee

Stock stroke 64.5 mm pistons vf3 toomey t5 timing plate +4 uni filter pods not sure on pilot size main jet is 250 and needle in the middle 38mm mikuni tm bike runs hard and strong runnin rich on bottom end please help

what pilot jet?

How many turns on air screw? have you tried adjusting air screw?

Is float set correct?

I changed main jet to a 320 cuz bike was losin power in mid range my pilot is a 20 and my airscrew is 2 turns out needle clip is on fourth slot from the top bike has power now wit 320 but hesitates on bottom end

you sure you are running rich on a 20 pilot? I would think a 20 would cause you to be a little lean. Whats your elevation?

My elevation is 311 above sea level and now the bike is getin power thruout the whole gear but hesitatin on the bottom end

Man , you are changing stuff that does not effect bottom end trying to cure a bottomend problem.

 

When the bike is warmed up and idling and you crack the throttle open to try to rev the bike up what does it do?

If it dies or stalls it is probably lean on pilot or needle down low

If it smokes quite a bit but goes ahead and boggs a bit but cleans up and then revs nice then it could be rich down low. (Pilot or needle)

 

Are you running a single 38mm or two? If you have two then tuning will be a little more difficult on a lightly modified bike.

I'm going back to stock till I get some 33-34pwk thanks for ur help everybody been tellin me 38 is too big for my set up so I'm a go back to stock and tune those carbs they are much easier until I get some 33-34

Dual 38's is a little much for your set up. Smaller carbs would suit you much better and would make tuning much easier in my opinion.

You can probably swap em for some 33-35mm carbs. If you wana try them again crank the timing up to like 7 and it will make it much easier to tune those carbs. If it doesnt have much added compression over stock it will be much easier to tune with timing.
