What size domes do you have? What is your timing set at? Did you do a compression test?

 

This will verify what octane you will need to keep it from detonating.

Actually, compression ratio is the correct way to find out what octane you should be running.

This is true but how many people actually know or take the time to figure out this? If there is none or mild porting done then Cranking compression will pretty closely tell you what type of fuel you need

Has anyone ever had problems with their spark plugs backing out? I have a pro design cool head.

Your jetting could be lean, you might have an airleak, timing is to advanced, flywheel might have spun, or compression might require better fuel.

 

Any way you play it = DETONATION
