Dahz Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Well today i got a 87 Banshee with a 91 motor 421 stroker kit in it. well when i got it he started it up in two kicks. my experiencing with quads is a 2004 honda 400ex. So when it didn't start pushed the throttle. nothing still. My help i need is on how to properly start a banshee and what to do if the motor gets flooded. Thanks for the help Quote
sheerider11 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Okay let's keep this simple and work our way up. -gas in the bike? Mixed correctly? -gas valve on? -key on? ( if it has one) - kill switch in the on position? ( if it has one) - may have a tether. Have that hooked up? If it has none and just starts or the above scenarios check out; - did you use the choke? - going on its a 421 I'm gonna assume aftermarket carbs. If that's the case, did you use both choke knobs? If all that checks out; - did you try changing spark plugs? - if not, do it. And for shits and giggles keep one out and kick. Check for spark. - this bike is new to you. Where did you get it? Did you drive from your mountain top home down to the valley to pick it up? Ask questions. Someone will be able to get it sorted out. But start with what I said and then we can work from there. Quote

sheerider11 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 In that picture your gas valve is off Try putting it in reserve. No special tools to pull plugs Quote

sheerider11 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Also do you want me to pull the both chokes up?Yeah. Also change the plugs. With both out give it a few kicks to air it out and check for spark. How about elevation or temp change?? That's why I asked where you got it to where you live. Quote
