JasonsBanshee Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Banshees come with these metal guards on the inside and outside of the front brakes. They are made of thin metal and have holes all over them. The inside one makes changing the brake pads a real pain. The one on the outside can easily be removed by just pulling the wheel off then pulling it off. The inside one looks like it's a little more difficult to get to, but shouldn't be too bad. Do you run yours? It looks like they are designed to keep sticks and stuff out of the brakes, but I don't care about that so I'm thinking I may remove them. Any pros or cons of removing them other than the obvious (lighter and looks better)? I'm talking about part 18/19 here And Part 16 here Quote
Starwriter Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 1st thing I throw in the scrap pile on any Banshee I buy. Like you mentioned, lighter and looks better. 2 Quote
JasonsBanshee Posted January 22, 2014 Author Report Posted January 22, 2014 That's what I'm thinking. I can't believe I've never removed them on any Banshee I've owned. LOL Quote

Zillaguy Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 I run the inner ones, not the outer ones.... I do alot of trail riding though, and it does help keep shit off the brakes... Quote
Bennett131 Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 if you trash them its easier to clean the inside of the wheel Quote
Uf21 Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 You can just bend it back slightly to get in there. Quote
JasonsBanshee Posted January 27, 2014 Author Report Posted January 27, 2014 Dave I'll throw them in the trash pile along with my fender remains. Quote

Mighty Shee Posted January 28, 2014 Report Posted January 28, 2014 I removed my front ones 2 seasons ago. Haven't had any issues. Quote
