I've started to notice that if I sit down on my Banshee and the rear shock compresses it makes a high pitch whinny sounds as it compresses. Does this mean it needs to be rebuilt or is it much better and cheaper to go aftermarket?

Cheaper to rebuild and revalve a stocker. If done right its a pretty good shock. Up to your riding to determine if you really need a custom aftermarket. A custom set up elka for example would be better performance wise. Most people will not need it though imo.

Yea when its bad it will bounce you off this dam seat through bumps.

Sorry for not responding for a while. Yeah it is real sluggish over bumps at the dunes and it takes not long but about a second and a half for it to go to the point that it'll stop decompressing. It doesn't decompress all the way. I can pick it up by the grab bar and lift it up the rest of the way. Hopefully I get most of the problems fixed before I go to the dunes early in July.

who are the recommended suspension companies to send your shock out to? Is MCR suspension any good? who is the site go to for a revalve/rebuild?

I'm curious about this as well. I want to have my rear shock done.

I had race tech do mine think was 300 for the gold valve re valve kit and a new spring for the +6 swing arm. They did good work and the shock feels amazing.
