I just purchased my first Banshee and love it, but I have an oil problem. The oil leaks out from the overflow tube. I thought at first that I had overfilled the case with too much oil, but after changing the oil again, I made sure I filled it to the correct oil level. When I change the oil, I let the engine run to get the oil hot so it will all flow out so I know I am not overflowing it. My local dealer said that it sounds like a "main seal" I have no idea what is going on. If anyone can help me diagnose the problem, I would really appreciate it.

im i reading this right

first off there is no way oil should be coming out by the radiator. antifreeze maybe. if you have oil coming from there something is not right.

I am not much help on this problem, but all i can figure is there is pressure building inside the motor it could be from weak piston rings but if that was the case it probably would not run very well. it is possible the crank seal is leaking allowing cumbustion gases to pass into the transmission case pushing your oil out your crank case vent.

as for the two previous replies they are mistaken because there is a crank case vent tube that is located about half way up the radiator on the right side of the bike

I have had lots of similar problems. what happens to me is the clutch gets hot and boils tranny fluid which vents out the overflow. I'm on my fourth clutch now with custom made springs. I have wasted 2 barnett dirt diggers one of them in about 2 minutes. My problem is a combo of tires(I only ride in sand and use 10 paddle taller haulers with kevlar) motor (typical ported 2 stroke gotta keep on the pipe) and bodyweight (270).

First thing to do is smell the dipstick. If it smells like hot brakes the clutch is ruined. The first time you get a clutch that hot it is junk.

The most obivous thing is clutch adjustment. Line up the arrow on the actuater and the top of the case and make sure that you have plenty of freeplay.

the last clutch i ruined did'nt slip that bad but it slipped a little all the time. I let the bike cool off but within 2 minutes of riding it would puke oil again.

good luck

4 clutches!!!Thats crazy. I've gone through one because of a bad lever, but 4 clutches. I'm don't know if you do this, but when your bogging down low, and want to hit powerband, you shouldnt ride the clutch a little bit. Yopui know, pull the lever in like an inch to get the revs up. I dont know, maybe it is your tires. I'm not tring to be mean, I'm just tryin to save you money, time, and work. :D
