O/CbansheeRider
So I'm having my head milled and I was going to have them take 20 off of it but a buddy is having his bike rebuilt cause it was pieced together cl special. Mines stock his has Paul turner ported cylinders. The guy doing his is having 35 taken off. Should I have them take more off of mine. I checked squish with .064 solder and had no contact. BUILDER
Call Cameron at Redline he will tell you how much you can shave off of it and still be safe running pump gas. Take to much off and you will need to be running race gas!
trickedcarbine
If you're going through the trouble spend a couple more bucks and let an actual banshee specialist re chamber the head as well. Ask your local guy if he can properly re chamber it. If not there is mull or even the rest of the site sponsors. Just wasting time with a simple deck.
O/CbansheeRider
They are just run of mill fab shop not a engine machine shop. Is it really that important to tech amber now. I'm planning on full tear down in a year. I was putting head gasket on and thought I'd get the squish closer since first time this bikes be apart from factory. blowit
Whether you have us rechamber it, or someone else, I firmly believe it is worth doing right. We offered the simple "decking service" for about 5 minutes. I decided it was not worth putting our name on. The key to our heads is in the fact that when we machine the face and the domes, we can get precise on the clearances and performance characteristics. We also do some unique work with the squish area to improve the combustion rate. They have worked well in a wide range of apps from mild 350 pump fuelers, to big super cubs. You will see some gain with just decking the head, but not near the same as with proper rechambering.

camatv
head changes can make big differences.. that is complete changes. not just decked.. 2 strokes react to different chamber designs a LOT
