New to 2 strokes.....2005 no spark

I traded my yzf450 for an 05 shee. Ran like a scalded cat until I let it sit for over a year while traveling for work. Carbs were removed and had zero sludge in them. Sprayed everything clean. New plugs. Fresh gas. But now I have zero spark and never had an issue until it wasn't used for awhile. Like I said I'm a noob to these bikes and have become a full believer in 2 strokes but if anyone can give me a starting point I appreciate it in advance. I have no desire to buy high dollar after market parts currently cuz I plan to tear it down to frame next late spring and rebuild entirely. Thanx again y'all.

Basics first...

What mods? Does it have E-brake, and TORS still? (Is the brake on?)

 

But for starters, check the continuity in the key, and kill switch. Corrosion may be your enemy from a 'sitter'. If you don't want to start with testing, then spray a buttload of WD-40 into the switch and rock it off and on-sometimes that's all it takes
