Durf4693 Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 I just bought a set of toomey T3's. I have a k&n air filter. The motor is stock. All I'll be doing is trail riding and dirt roads. Think overheating will be an issue? What jets should I start with? Quote
bluebanshee98 Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 k&n air filter in the air box or k&n pods? need more info, carbs, temp elevation Quote
Durf4693 Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 Between 1900-560 feet above sea level ( Western New York) Stock carbs for a 99 banshee. Factory air box with snorkel still on, with k&n filter 40:1 - yamalube- 93 octane ( non- ethanol ) Quote
JKJK Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 You must at least loose the snorkel. With temps.around 40 deg.1+1/4 turns out with air screws,25 piolet, middle clip,+310 mains. That should be real close,You'll probably have to go down one or two sizes on the mains+adjust the needle as needed. Durf4693 Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 Alright, I'll probably go down one with the main, I'd rather run it a little bit on the richer side, but not to the point of having oil run outta my pipes. I also have a tors removal kit coming in the mail. Quote
JKJK Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 I would start with the 310's,going lower in #'s will make it leaner!Always safer to start rich+work to the sweet spot. Those specks should be real close to optimum. 1 Quote
Durf4693 Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 Right, I misspoke. Thank for the help. Quote
