Kanetrex123 Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Hi guys im new to the gorum and I'm having some problems with my modified 03 shee. She ran like a top at the start of the year then all of a sudden the cable got loose. So I loosened the adjuster on the perch until the lever was at the right position. But I noticed that it was almost screwed out all the way. So I thought stretched clutch cable and bought a new one and installed. The old one didn't look stretched so I had the same result. Took it out for a ride and the clutch wouldn't disengage. Ok?! so i pulled the cover off and tightened the nut to right spec according to the clymer manual. Put it all back together and took it for a ride and about fifteen minutes later it wouldn't engage, I couldn't move the lever. So after I pushed it back to the house i found the little arm on the engine that u connect the cable wouldn't move. So wat is going on?! The guy who built my engine (who did an amazing job by the way) is 5 hours away. It's been 3 years since he built it and this is the only thing that ever went wrong. Thanks guys and I'm happy to be part of the forum Quote
RagunCajun Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 You may have welded the ball and pushrod together. Quote
Zillaguy Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 X3 yep^^^^ Welded ball... Get a new push rod, ball, and a pancake bearing Quote
Finch Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 buy a pancake bearing uh thats helpful. Yes a pancake bearing is a good idea but if its already welded gonna need to get a new rod and ball. Quote
