aleyesonme
Need some advice....I've searched thoroughly and haven't came across an answer so here goes...I recently purchased a cub motor, I'm new to the cub scene, anyway I took the topend apart to make sure everthing looked fine on the inside...I noticed that some rtv was used as the gasket and nothing else. So I had some oem gaskets lying around and used them to put it back together, only to realize later that there's a gasket made for the monoblock cub. So I want to know if the two piece gasket is fine or not.....thank you for any help
dajogejr
Some people run no gasket and just RTV. I prefer the one piece gaskets....but it's preference...not right or wrong.

J-Madd
If it was setup to not run a basegasket, and you put one in there, it's gonna mess the port timing and squish clearance up.
trickedcarbine
^this. Assemble it with no gasket again and do a squish test to see if a gasket is doable.

camatv
one piece will fit much better. if its case matched most 2 piece gaskets wont seal.
