This may be a dumb ? But I'm new to alky and I am just curious to what the diff in the two is and is alky better to run for drag and does it shorten the life of the engine any or cause any probs that gas doesn't??

Alcohol and gas require different air/fuel ratios to run correctly. Alcohol carbs are modified for significantly more fuel flow. Alcohol traps moisture from the surrounding air so purging with gasoline is required after use. Alcohol will make 5-7% more power than gasoline when properly tuned so it can have an advantage at the track. To get the most out of it will take some research, practice and domes setup to run it.

They won't, you'll tell the builder that usually.

So is this where we get your expert right wing opinion about how since you can't figure out how to run alky with out melting pistons, that most people shouldn't bother?

drilled out center dump tubes somewhere around .118 .120 with drilled main jets as well. Then power jets added with oversized bowls usually or on a fuel pump with pumper style carbs.

Thats the main modifications for alky.

The fuck are you talking about? I've never melted a piston from my inability of tuning? My fuel pump failed if that's what you're getting at?

calm down.

Hey Ken

Call Brandon at Wildcard and go from there. He's a great sponsor and has excellent customer service.

I run alky and Brandon set me up with his Drag port & domes and the bike runs great ( unless I fuck up the tune )

The only issue is tuning for extreme humidity. It's a learning process ; but well worth the gains available.

Still waiting on them Spindle mounts :whistling:

I'd say longer on alky with a safe tune. More oil going through the cylinders. JMO though. No proof to back it up. Now catastrophic failures may be more common with alky, just not general wear, I don't think.
