onequick96gt Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) I just want to run this by you all. I starting getting a little trans oil in my cooling system. Noticed a little oil floating in my coolant reservior tank and there is some oil in the radiator. Vent hoses are 100% for sure routed correctly. I have already drained trans fluid to check for coolant. It is NOT milky at all and there is no coolant getting in the transmission. It must be either the o ring for the coolant tube that goes into the clutch cover or more likely the water pump seal. Seems weird that oil would get into the cooling system before coolant would leak into the transmission!!! Seeing how there is pressure on the cooling system side. Anybody ever ran into this before? Thanks for any thoughts on this Edited July 23, 2013 by onequick96gt Quote

Zillaguy Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 pump shaft seal. replace impeller and seal Unless it's a slightly leaky head gasket... Quote
onequick96gt Posted July 23, 2013 Author Report Posted July 23, 2013 (edited) Its Getting Trans Oil In Coolant. Not Premix. Plus The Cooling System Isnt Over Pressurized And It Isnt Blowing Out Coolant. When My Clutch Comes In From FAST I Will Do The Water Pump Seal when I Am Replacing The Clutch. Im Sure That Must Be It. I Just Wondered If Anybody Had Seen This Before. Its Kinda Weird If You Ask me. Edited July 23, 2013 by onequick96gt Quote
oldskool Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 I've seen traces of oil in coolant from rebuilds where grease and or oil was used on gaskets/o-rings Quote
