I know the 421 cub is a ported serval and the cub have more top end as the serval have more bottom end. Does anyone have any experience or heard anything about the Stage 2 ported 421 serval kits they sale on ebay? I know its still a serval but its slightly ported so would it perform more like a cub?

stage 1,2,3 27. fuck knows what that shit means.

there is almost 10 degrees difference in exhaust port timings between the cheetah and serval, and almost 5 degrees in transfer timing.

if you port the serval to those specs it becomes a cheetah cub, or ported in between  you loss more of one and become more the other.

you can port the serval to have more top and lose very little bottom and be a fun cylinder, but thats an expensive cylinder by the time youre done with it.

to know how those "stage 2" ported servals will perform, you have to know port timings,

i like serval based cylinders coz, if youre not sure where you wanna go, you can always port it into a cheetah cub, tho its an expensive way to go.

if youre always in upper gears and wot most of the time, buy a cheetah cub.

Which would perform better? 421 unported cub vs 421 ported serval

Depends on riding style. I get more out of a serval than I would a cub but I ride lots of tight trails. Someone else will get more out of a cub if the do lots of drag racing. It's all about application.

It also depends a lot on what you're used to, an as cast 4 mil serval will run better than most drag ported stock cylinder motors and have better bottom end. I really think many people worry to much about that extra 1.5 HP instead of just enjoying what is really an amazing step in banshee performance. If you're racing for points or money it makes sense but for the average guy it really doesn't.

so you think a untouched serval will run better then a drag ported stick cylinder?

Serious question.

I think it would in the trails lol. I have not ever compared my serval to a drag port stock cyl but I have with a dune port 4mil stock cyl and my serval did run harder than it did. If the builder knows what he is doing I do not think that an as cast serval will be able to take a full drag port stock cyl head to head. (And that's assuming that its the same chassis set up and inframe pipes etc etc)

I probably shouldn't have worded it quite like that, but I believe that it'll run better than a lot of stock cylinder "drag" ports.

Asked in the drag section. Answer - CUB FTW.
