trying to figure out my pilots

ok so i got tors removed with 30 p in right now about 1 3/4 out put in 25's to see if there could be an improvement on my low end but they also had to be turned out 1 3/4 turn with no sign of differnce. now how could to differnt piloets get thesame outcome? any help or ideas?

Well are you just putting them in and reving the bike in place or riding and putting a load?

not doing any real riding just around the block. i let it warm up try to adjust idel get it to stay running and in descent sound at an idel then run it around the block about 1/4 mile strech and go from there

I'm having a similar issue. I can't get the airscrews to have any effect on the motor. T5's, vf4's, ported cylinders, cfm airbox with k&n's, and boss intake. Ride at sea level. 27.5 pilots in right now and the air screw does nothing.

Pilots only control from idle to a quarter throttle. Are you having a bog off idle orsomething else like the motor loading up and dying at idle?

You need 30's for your pilots. You are lean....so airscrew can't help because every setting in lean. Normally a motor like yours might be happy with 27.5's, but the V-4's need more fuel so one size larger pilot is required.

Just went out there and messed with it some more. I think I'm to rich with the 27.5 pilots. Bike starts first kick, idles good, and has normal smoke. When I pull the choke out halfway it gets worse! Should I order some 25 pilots?

Are pilot jets banshee specific? This says that they are. I thought a pilot for a mikuni vm 26 would be fine.

Thanks Johnny. I think I figured it out though. I took it out for the first time yesterday and did some tuning. I still have the 27.5 pilots in with the air screw out .5 turns. I'll be putting in 30's soon. I know how to jet carbs, but this had me stumped. Usually if the air screw has no effect the pilot is way off in either direction. I think what happened was when I first fired it up I had the slides in backwards. After I realized it and fixed them the pilots have have been loaded up. So the first time I tried to take off I had a really bad lean bog. I had them set at 1.5 turns out. All good now. Motor is air tight btw. Thanks again.

Good deal. Between .5 and 2 turns out is optimal. I think your pilots are good dude. No need to go a size up if you ask me

Well the only reason I was considering going up a size is because when the weather gets cold I will have to close them some. Not much room to work with at .5 turns out.
