Rotax Raptor Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 See if you have any small pieces metal in the pits of pistons. Check them with a magnet. If you have a crank bearing coming apart metal can come up through the transfers. Quote
Paul76 Posted June 16, 2013 Author Report Posted June 16, 2013 Ok I will. I let a small engine shop do the work not me. I will be doing it myself this time ate you saying no silicon? Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 No silicone just use a quality gasket. Check out the leak down test thread on here and plan on doing one after you get it together before you run it. Quote
Paul76 Posted June 16, 2013 Author Report Posted June 16, 2013 Is the gasket I got with my wiseco pistons good enough? Quote
tdod101 Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 Is the gasket I got with my wiseco pistons good enough? OEM gaskets I find are the best, but the weisco one will do if you don't have time to go to the stealership Quote
Paul76 Posted June 17, 2013 Author Report Posted June 17, 2013 I don't have a dealer around here so I hope these we work Quote
dave5.0 Posted June 17, 2013 Report Posted June 17, 2013 Is the factory one a metal composite? That's what I've went to. Athena makes a decent kit with one. Or most of the site sponsors have the composite rubberish ones. I've had good luck with those after having the paper crap out on me a few times. Quote
Paul76 Posted June 17, 2013 Author Report Posted June 17, 2013 The one I have is the metal composite Quote
