sksummers Posted October 31, 2003 Report Posted October 31, 2003 Has anyone reamed their spindles to accomodate aftermarket a-arms/ball joints? If so which reamer did you use? Quote
Blue Duece Posted October 31, 2003 Report Posted October 31, 2003 i used a uni bit going from 3/8's to 7/8's dont over ream it, or your front end will be sloppy, reem a little then check the spindle and joint for fit, reem a little more and so on..... Quote
sksummers Posted December 28, 2003 Author Report Posted December 28, 2003 Thought I would post some pics of the finished product for you guys. What we have is the stock a-arms modified to accept aftermarket ball joints. I found a source for the joints that did not require the spindles to be reamed. My buddy did the fab work, as you can see he is an awesome welder. If you are interested in having this mod done he has all of the jigs to do it. Quote
erbilabuc Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 how much does he charge for something like that? Quote
sksummers Posted December 28, 2003 Author Report Posted December 28, 2003 He's still trying to decide how much to charge, there is nearly $90 in ball joints alone. The bottom arm takes alot of work. I will post the amount here when he let's me know. Quote
Skiddz Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Can he do the same type of mod to the stock J arms?? I'd definitely be interested in that mod... Quote
sksummers Posted December 29, 2003 Author Report Posted December 29, 2003 We are looking at a mod for the J-arms that includes a reinforcing loop added like the D-arms. Quote
