BANSHEE CHAOS Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 After riding for a few minutes I noticed when I would let off the gas, the motor didn't slow down. The cable isn't sticking. The right carb is puking some out the overflow. They're 35.5 Mikuni's. I've got a fairly short dirt oval with a small jump in each straight. I assumed the overflow was due to centrifugal force... now I dunno. The idle increase is pretty significant. The reeds are fairly low hour VForce's but kinda seems like the culprits. Quote
oldskool Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 You don't want gas coming out of overflow, this means your floats are stuck or travel of floats need adjustment or needle valve is not shutting fuel off when carb bowls are full. Does it idle high in neutral? Does gas continue to run out with engine off and fuel on? Quote
BANSHEE CHAOS Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 It does seep a little out on the trailer floor... Looks like I'll be pulling the carbs off. The way my "luck" goes I usually overlook the obvious, simple diagnosis. Cleaning a pair of Mikuni's is a picnic! Even if its not the problem it probably needs done. I got this scoot about a month ago. The dude I got it from probably used the cheapest oil he could get. I do recall him saying he was mixing it absurdly rich! I forgot about that! Like 6-8 oz to a gallon! Its a fresh motor but dang... I can't believe I forgot that. Quote
