Justintoxicated Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Hey guys, SDD came down and helped me pull my crank out to get it trued and welded. I was talkign to the guy who is doing the welding and he suggests that I might consider new rods and Bearings. Do I need to get a new rods and bearings or the outer bearings or any other for the crank before I put it back in? What about the rods? Quote
H300F Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Getting your crank rebuilt is going to cost about the same as getting an aftermarket wiseco crank, which will be $300-400. TDR has good rebuilding prices at $300, and $350 for 10ball bearings. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted October 30, 2003 Author Report Posted October 30, 2003 Well origionaly I was just to get my stock one welded (its not broken or anything). Do I really just need to replace the whole thing? I can't really afford that right now. Can I jsut replace some of the parts? If so which ones? Quote
boonman Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 The stock crank isn't rebuildable. You need new webs and what not. Wiseco makes the parts, as does Yamaha. It really isn't worth replacing some of the parts. You should replace them all. But, if your crank isn't bad, don't worry about it. Just have it welded, and put it back together.... Quote

THe place i was going to take it too said there is one bearing I must replace because it will be damage when they remove it? Quote
