midlifecrisis
So I was out for a ride down the side of the highway at the cottage, and when I got back and the bike quitened down a little bit, I could hear a pretty loud noise coming from the clutch housing (like a bjeewww noise, only higher pitch, lol). I pull in the clutch and the noise goes away. Obviously its clutch related, but any insight on what it could be before I pull the cover tomorrow? Also, likely Ill replace the clutch entirely while Im in there, so what are the advantages of a Hinson assembly over stock, and what are the advantages of stiffer HD springs? Im also having an issue since this happened shifting into 3rd.
bansheesandrider
I am thinking the problem is the transmission and not the clutch since it goes away when you pull the clutch. That is when things stop turning in the trans. You can pull the clutch cover and look things over since it has to come off anyway to split the cases, but I bet the problem is a bearing or gear on the tranny shafts.
