Does packing do anything ?

I have no packing in my toomey t5 silencers, does it do any thing performance wise or just keeps it quieter ?

It is loud but sounds awesome, it has the round tube in it, but that's it

with no packing it changes the tuned length of the stinger.

You lose low end power. Those pipes are designed to run best with packing in them. You will notice a gain in low end power with packing in place.

I never said I prefer one over the other, ill admit it does sound good but I did say I didn't know what it did or if it was needed, and thanks to you fellas now I k is the difference

but yet, get some packing in dem, i reckon they sound better with packing, as well as go better.

Packing is a must. In a pinch, fire block insulation bats are ok. Or even steel wool. But try, please try to get real packing.
