opinion on running 100LL fuel

Higher octane doesn't mean more responsive. There have been lots of threads about this recently

It has a much shorter shelf life than automotive gasoline. It smells good burning though!

It has a much longer shelf life. It has no ethanol which kills the life of gas.

 

I run it because I'm borderline to much compression for 93. The builder said I would be better off running it.

Exactly! I run most of my small engines on 100ll and have zero carb issues when I need them again. It'll tune leaner than race or pump gas because its oxygenated and it seems to not mix well with bean oil in my experience.

It didn't in my case. Went bad in under two months.

ive always used vp or sunoco. but from what i read avgas works decent if you cut it down 50% with 91. ive never seen anybody recomend running it straight up and some sources say avoid  it all together. aparently it burns extremely slow

I tried it in my Cheetah years ago because I had easy access to it.  ( my boss owns a  airport ) But it ran like shit?  Don't know why, but it didn't work for me.
