ClayAiken Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 I think everything was sealed well. The guy that helped me took a lot of time showing me everything and making sure I did it right. I just called him after I read all that and he is still convinced I have a carb problem. Is that possible? Are they synced? Quote
Lodge Posted April 24, 2013 Author Report Posted April 24, 2013 They are stock carbs. 250 mains. Left all other jets alone. Cleaned the one under the float and the air screws are synced at 1.5 turns. When I put them back on I had dirt in them but I just tore them down and cleaned all I could. Choke seems more sticky than before. Could that do anything? Crossover tube is new Quote
Larry's Shee Posted April 24, 2013 Report Posted April 24, 2013 Clean both carbs pussy clean. That means taking them comepletely apart. Set float height, Sync carbs, new plugs, leak down test. Has coolant gone down ? No offense to you or the race car builder, but RTV is not the proper/prefered sealent. Yamabond or 3bond for case halves. Quote
Smokie the two stroke Posted April 28, 2013 Report Posted April 28, 2013 If you have a cool head sounds like an o ring fell out of place and got tore during assembly they won't burn much coolant but will smoke like a freight train and anti freeze will tear a bearing out faster than you can blink your eyes. Pull your head back off and look for smashed or torn o ring and make sure to use a small amount of Vaseline or silicone to hold them o rings in place when setting head back on jugs. Quote
