jraymer Posted April 19, 2013 Report Posted April 19, 2013 Been lurking on here for quite a while reading. Have a 99, has; Trinity stage IV head, not sure on domes, did a comp test at it was 150 ish. Trinity porting, Reed spacers, V-Force 3 reeds, Keihin PWK 28's K&N 3x5 filters. Not sure if timing has been messed with Pulled the carbs apart and the needle clip is in the middle, pilots are *42 but when i checked the mains, one carb had a 140 and the other carb had a 125??? Seemed odd to me, I am trying to jet for 1200 feet or so, I live in Vegas. I read about ten pages deep into the jetting sticky and couldn't find a similar set up. Also a shop told me that reed spacers should not be used with V-Force reeds. Any validity to this? Quote
Sandking Posted April 19, 2013 Report Posted April 19, 2013 Match the mains at 140 and do a plug chop Quote
tdod101 Posted April 19, 2013 Report Posted April 19, 2013 140 seems extremely low. I'd go 290 at least with 30 pilots Quote
jraymer Posted April 20, 2013 Author Report Posted April 20, 2013 Thanks for the replies. I will start working on this piece in the morning. Quote
RadarRacing Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 You might also check to make sure someone didnt drill the 125 out to make it a 140. I have drilled jets many times when I was needing a bigger one. I always scratched off the numbers but just a thought for ya. If you look thru a 125 and a 140 you can see a size difference. As for which drillbit you need to drill a jet if you ever need to. There are 25.4 mms to the inch and a 140 is a 1.4mm hole So 1 divided by 25.4 = 0.039370079"= 1mm 0.039370079" X 1.4 = 0.055118111" approximate drill bit size. Quote
