Im trying to get this lsr drag axle installed and seems like both the brake and sprocket hubs touch the carrier and not the bearings. what am i missing here? do i need a specific carrier or some spacers?

I'm gonna take a guess that the carrier is set up for double row bearings(2 rows of balls in a single bearing) and somebody put in single row bearings. You need to make sure the proper bearings are in there and the spacer pipe is correct.

Ok thanks, i bought the carrier used so hopefully i can just buy a set of bearings and go..

so a little update..

the carrier already had 2 single bearings on each side

my hub depth is 14.5mm and the carrier to bearing depth is 14.5mm  so..

I don't know if its a 35mm carrier someone put 40mm bearings into or what? I did notice though that there is no spacer tube in the center between the bearings.

distance of the bearings on the carrier is 121mm  I don't know if anyone knows what 40mm vs 35mm carrier demensions are

Is it possible the bearings are just drove in too far since center tube is missing ? Or is there seats that prevent this ?

you need the spacer tube and two bearings on each side. I bought a used carrier and someone did the same thing . Trying to run a twin row with no spacer and only two bearings will not work

So the bearings dont touch the seat they touch the crush tube spacer? But if you put one side bearings in all the way then that hub will touch the carrier.?

I'm sure your suspicion about someone trying to convert a 35 carrier to 40 is probably correct. A single row 40 bearing is narrower than a 35. They left the tube out because obviously a 40mm axle won't go through a 35mm tube.
