1987 Banshee 410cc For Sale.

 

It starts right up every time but, it does have a miss fire so it usually runs on one cylinder only. With that said it does have a fresh Barnett clutch, and shifts thru every gear flawlessly. I'll list the mods here. the motor is approx. 410cc's, I believe it to be a 4 mill stroker. The jugs have a mild port job. It has dual 28mm Kiehin carbs. Bills Exhauast. K&N Air Filter. And the Barnett Dirt Digger Clutch... Suspension and brakes are all stock. It ran extremely strong before the miss showed up, i believe its the stator needing replaced but im not certain on that. Asking $1,400

guess it depends on the port job.....who did it? if it was ray Charles and the port job has ruined the cylinders (or depending the bore that its on) then it may be needing a whole new top end so that could hurt ya for a bit of money....

That's something that your usually pretty sure of. So who knows how it's been maintained. Now what's really causing the miss??

I'd go in and low ball the shit out of them. See what you can walk away with. A new stator is 500. To check the crank the top end needs to come off. Time consuming, new gaskets.

These are just things to use as ammo to get a bad ass deal. And obviously pick the bike apart, but don't be offensive and piss the guy off. It's a fine line.

Thanks a lot I just asked him about who did the port work an being sure its a 4m crank! So if I had to rebuild what do you think the damage would be say best cheap route! So he's says he doest think its a strokes said theirs no spacer plate and no idea who did port work! But guy he bought it off of said its 410cc all he know is its very fast but for some who never rode a banshee I would guess its going to be fast to him. When I go look at it any keys to look for as far as hear and seeing it run?

That bike is in pa, I asked for picks of the spacer plate or of the receipt for the +4 mil. Didnt have any, sent me pics of the bottom of the jug, no plate. i guess the head could be milled and the domes could be cut but im not going to gamble on a 87 for 1400.  Just figured i throw my .02 I bought a couple banshees last yr and 01 400cc cub for 1100 and a 98 with a fresh motor and a good bit of mods for 1500 along with my 06 485pv Cheetah, and that was the cream of the crop for 2600. Deals are out there. Just have to be patient. and learn how to jew hard.

i would let it pass, and ya i could let you know when i come across a deal. usually the day something cheap pops up, ya gotta be quick and be ready to roll. I drove a total of 8 hours to go pick my 01 cub up.
