Cottondoc Posted February 22, 2013 Author Report Posted February 22, 2013 Yeah, that is part of the reason I stopped going. They were digging all the sand up and hauling it off. Was kind of depressing. I'm sure it is still a pretty good place to ride though. Quote
Cottondoc Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 Bought a 2006 special edition right down the road from me yesterday. It has CPI pipes, but is otherwise pretty much stock. I haven't been able to ride it much yet due to the rain, but I am really happy with it so far. Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Cool. Where's the pics? Quote
Cottondoc Posted February 25, 2013 Author Report Posted February 25, 2013 tried to post pics, but it said they were too big. Any suggestions? I am sure there is a way to do it. I just haven't figured it out yet. Quote

Cottondoc Posted February 26, 2013 Author Report Posted February 26, 2013 I rode it yesterday and really had a good time. It ran fine and had no problems. It did have a significant left rear tire wobble though at speed in high gear. I am not sure if the rim or axle is bent. I am going to take a closer look at it this week when I get time and determine if the axle or rim is bent and try to replace the bent part. Otherwise, I ran really good and I am very happy with the purchase. One thing I might want to change though are the pipes. It has CPI pipes and Keihin carbs that the guy I bought it from said had been bored from 28 to 30mm. The bike ran great, but it doesn't have much bottom end torque. I know it is a Banshee and that is a characteristic of Banshees, but this isn't the first Banshee I have ridden. My friend has a ported Banshee with FMF pipes. His seemed to not have such a peaky, high RPM bent power band. I may not change anything, but just thought some midrange or torque pipes might fit my needs better. Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Nice. Has it been ported? Quote
Cottondoc Posted February 27, 2013 Author Report Posted February 27, 2013 Thanks! No porting per the guy I bought it from. It runs really good and I am very happy with it so far. Just need more time to ride now!! Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 30's may be a little too much carb for a unported motor. If they were unbored and left at 28, it'd be ideal. Quote
Cottondoc Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 I figured that the combo of 30mm carbs and the CPI pipes might be the reason it felt a little soft low in the RPM range. Port work will be next on my list of mods when I get the money. Quote
