Nipple below the waterpump?

I'm in the process of re assembling the engine. Its been several months since I tore it down so I don't remember anything mounted to it. Below the waterpump there is a nipple going into the crankcase. Nothing mounted to it. I have no idea what its purpose is. Can anyone elaborate?

i bought a mattoon cover and ya have to get one or put a vent in it i like the idea more then solder too and there cheap

vent for cutch cover from the rz's you dont need it still have the one out the back
