Trailtech tachometer

i cant get this fuckin trail tech tachometer to read correct, i got it set to 2 rpm and i even soldered in a 1/4 watt 600k resistor like the trail tech tech guy told me to but its still reading 3000rpm at idle???? anyone got any suggestions im running a br8es plug also

is it wrapped around a plug wire or connected to the coil?

i tired wrapping it around the plug, wrapping it around both plugs..... and taping it along the spark plug

plug or plug wire? i dont see it doing anything by taping it to the plug.

is it grounded good? mine is taped to the plug wire, not wrapped around it, and it does fine.

its a voyager they only come with the red wire no ground

ya man 3000 rpm at idle has to be like 1500 rpms off almost!

so theres no ground though? it has to ground somewhere.

the ignition sensor is a thin like 20 gauge red wire no ground

But the unit has a ground. Is it grounded good?

yup its going to the negative on my battery

It has to be picking up some interference from something. I don't run a battery and have the ground wire grounded to a bolt on the gas tank. Works fine for me.
