ok i bought this banshee and the guy told me it had a one off titanium axle he had machined. so im digging into it trying to get the axle off and i notice that the wheel hubs are threaded on not splined like all the other banshees. has any1 seen this style before?? there a real pain to get off too.

interesting.......try opening the gap in the hub, easy and it should slide off or if the hubs are for real threaded .throw the wheel back on and turn it that way.id like to see the full axle if you have any pics postem up.

I would try carefully inserting a chisel in the gap then turning. Make sure you are turning it the right way. He might have had a left hand thread put on one side like old cars and trucks so it wouldn't back off. I assume the axle is still on the bike? I would also like to see full pictures.

ok heres some more pics. the wheel hubs were threaded. havent been workin on it past few days but there are no axle nuts on the axle. ive been tryin to knock the sprocket off but i cant see any evidence of splines or threads but it isnt budging. gunna try on the brake hub side today see if that will pop off.

goodluck is the break hub thats threaded?.if so every time the brakes were applied that would tighten up like a motha,id try a strap wrench on the the sprocket side, the lil cycle piece on the outside.if the sprocket hub is thread id think youd have the same tightening effect everytime you took off or gas it some gas?? so hope there splined but eithr way good luck and let us know how it worked out???
