rehpotsirhcone Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 I'm new to working on banshees and would appreciate any help. I just put a new Billet clutch basket, inner hub in the clutch, replaced the fibers and steel plates, and put a new ASV lever on my bike. I have a lock up and pancake bearing... got everything all put back together and the kick start won't move and the bike will roll in any gear. i took the cover off about a dozen times trying to figure out what was going on with it... no luck,. any ideas? thanks Quote

sheerider11 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Yes. everything seemed to go smooth till i got the clutch cover back on. Is the adjuster on the pancake bearing hitting the cover? Quote
rehpotsirhcone Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 Is the adjuster on the pancake bearing hitting the cover? It's not hitting the clutch cover. I adjusted it where it was against the pressure plate and the ball, then i backed it off a hair so there is a little play Quote
sheerider11 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Did you tighten everything?? There is something your overlooking. Quote
252wheelieking Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 I think you didnt install the pressure plate correctly so that it's fully seated. On the stock clutch basket & pressure plate there are arrows that helps you line up the pressure plate so that it would fully seat. The aftermarket basket may not have them marks. If you didnt do that it will cause the steels & fibers not to fully compress against each other which will act like the clutch is disengaged. Take the clutch springs & bolts back off, then pull the pressure plate & slightly turn & seat the pressure plate until you noticed that the pressure plate sits flush against the fibers. Then reassemble. Hope that help Quote

rehpotsirhcone Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 That does go on a certain way, that might be it Are the fibers and steel plates supposed to be able to move at all after you put the pressure plate on? Mine are sliding about a half inch in the basket Quote

sheerider11 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Those arrows won't do anything since you put a different basket on, but they used to point at little marks on the stock one. Quote

Thanks n you will not be able to move the fibers & steel at all when the pressure plate is installed correctly. That's is what you did wrong, follow the instruction i gave you before & your tranny should work fine from there. Your welcome Quote
