knightracer_08 Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Ok so this thread started in the dyno room with asking for an estimated hp, then I pulled the head and found pitting in #1 piston and was told deto and mabe failed crank and the latter won, rod bushings and mabe some other stuff. So I'm going to start over here, and my current mods are: K&n 28mm d-slides Ported intake boots Pro series reeds Reed spacer Port and polish .040 bore Fmf sst gold series pipes So now I want to keep my top end as the cylinders are still good, but seeing as I gotta change the crank I would like to go stroker, what can I go? What's a good stroke for general riding, trails, gravel pit hill climbing, etc.? Might send the jugs out for a better p&p, would love to spend 2g on a complete kit but wife would shoot me so lets talk some budget options, and if anyone has a crank for sale? Quote
dirtydownunder Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 youll need to re port your cylinders for the 4mm stroke. go the 4mm, its easiest. click on the sponsors link, and speak to a sponsor. we are just going to relay what they say. tell them what you want, theyll sort you out. Quote
knightracer_08 Posted July 10, 2012 Author Report Posted July 10, 2012 Alright, talked to Kevin at hjr and 1300 is the quote on a complete 4mil engine with cool head, forgot to ask what brand of crank though, wish my sled was this cheap to rebuild lol Quote

knightracer_08 Posted July 12, 2012 Author Report Posted July 12, 2012 Ya I'll check the crank for sure, what's the opinion on fmf sst gold series pipes? I'm going to build the 4 mil regardless, I do trail, gravel pit/hill climbing Quote
guns4children Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 Those piped are alright but I believe the " preferred " pipe for that type of riding would be pro circuits. I have yet to heat anything bad about them. Quote
special06shee Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 i run t5s on my 4mil stock cylinder and they work great as an all around pipe!! fmfs will probably be just fine..especially if your on a budget!! Quote

knightracer_08 Posted July 14, 2012 Author Report Posted July 14, 2012 Alright, well seeing as I already own them ill just keep em, any other mods I should do while this thing is apart? Going to get the high flow water pump and was thinking I should get a clutch kit while I'm in there. Quote
ldp245 Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 I suggest a shift star mod and Barnett heavy duty clutch. Quote
