Starwriter Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 If you're not using 6th gear, the 6th gear pin needs to be cut off the shift star, so that it can't try to go into 6th that is not there. Don't know what to tell you beyond that. Quote
Surfrjag Posted April 4, 2012 Author Report Posted April 4, 2012 yes it is removed. i notice that it does move towards fifth i think i need a modified shift fork Quote
Phelps Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 just put it together. i have had overrides not work right sitting in the cases and and work flawlessly once together. Quote
Surfrjag Posted April 4, 2012 Author Report Posted April 4, 2012 had the shift forks mixed up. so the shaft with 2 forks has the same style forks and the shaft with only one fork is the oddball ? Quote
Starwriter Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 yes it is removed. i notice that it does move towards fifth i think i need a modified shift fork Then why does it continue to move the shift fork each time you shift it at the end? After you're in 5th, the shift shaft pawl should gleefully hook on nothing each time you shift it, right? Quote
Surfrjag Posted April 4, 2012 Author Report Posted April 4, 2012 because i was turning the shift star by hand. not with the shifter. Quote
