shelby78 Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) New to banshee's and fairly new to the site. I bought a banshee as a basket case and am working out the "issues" with it. Its a 1998 banshee. I bought it yesterday in parts and after 3 hours it was running. I did a cold comp test and it was 100psi on both cyl's (slightly low). Regardless it starts first kick. I got to take it out for a quick ride today and one of the issues is a oil leak from the shifter shaft seal. My main question is can this seal be replaced without dissasembling the bottom cases? I would like to say the banshee (even low on comp) has lived up to the hype. This thing works very well. Heres some pics so i don't get the the stfu. First pics are before i got it. I got the bike for $350 so i really can't complain about the issues it has. I will get a new chain for her tommorrow once the bike shops open. I'm also thinking about re ringing it if everything is in spec. I have a full set of measuring tools as i am machinist. Edited April 2, 2012 by shelby78 Quote

A set of new holeshot's (going on tommorrow) and some dunlop's. Those sand tires are kinda fun but also annoying on trails. Quote

I'll fix the little issues first then decide if i keep it and do a decent rebuild or not. I'm up in canada and all the cool banshee dealers are state side. Quote
