I have a TDR 10mil- haven't ran it yet but I did some research before I bought it.

They are made in Taiwan where most banshee cranks are made. TDR trues/welds them and mine looks welded good.

They come with standard bearings, upgrade that!

I can't see how they would be any worse then a Hotrods, Vitos, or Wiseco crank.

10mils in general have a rep for pulling apart- get straight cut gears!

I dont think so.... the Denny wang cranks are "black" lobes as well as a black center bearing these are polished.

Im debating on giving the 7mil a whirl on my next build

Maybe a Wang wanna be. Lol. 400 for a NEW 10mill crank? Maybe used. U get what u pay for

Unless you think about how much more does it really cost to make a 10mil over a stock crank.

I called and talked directly to Tony a few weeks back about his 10 mil cranks. What it boiled down to was this: If i wanted a really GOOD 10mil,,go with his $800 10 mil. He personally puts those together and checks everything himself. The components are of higher quality too. The $400 one,,,,well, he said IF,,IF i would not abuse it ( aka over-rev ,etc) it should be fine ,as most crank failures are rider induced. Like it or not, that seems to be the case. For my peace of mind,I'll stick with his $800 crank and KNOW who put it together.

I thought it was like a denny wang crank. I went through this debate when I built my 10mill. Bottom line is that if its wsm or wang, its a gamble. Personally I didnt want to risk the 1500 in my topend with some cheap shit crank. IMO.

cheaply made vs what? a billet or cheaper then lets say a Hotrods?

Loose/tight tolerances, cheap bearings, tiny tac welds after the crank has been assembled. Straight from wsm. They maybe fine as a stock replacement crank but last I checked stock was 36hp and not a 10mm stroke.

What crank did you choose?

the crank in my 10 mill is the 800 dolla tdr crank its fordged and has been very reliable.

in my OPINION a 10 mill crank should cost the same as the 350cc oem replacement. all they are doing is moving the pin location.

i went with fordged after seeing crank after crank failure with billet cranks. even in the automotive performance industry billet cranks are known to fail horribly

ok so I know the forged 10 mil crank can be made solid

But what about their 4 and 7mil cranks?

From what I gather TDR just uses the regular plain jane stock bearings and hot rod rods?

This is what I've been told.
