Larry's Shee Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 I would consider getting a matched set of cases and take that out of the mix. Quote
252wheelieking Posted March 12, 2012 Author Report Posted March 12, 2012 I cleaned the cases & they are matching cases. both cases have X9 142 on the upper & lower cases. I am leaning more towards something is out of spec. with the cases. I'm going to buy another set of cases & rebuild it again except im going 4mil cub this time. Quote

sprinklerman Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 where abouts are the markings you mentioned? Mine are scribed on the back of the case by the rear mount. Quote
252wheelieking Posted March 13, 2012 Author Report Posted March 13, 2012 where abouts are the markings you mentioned? Mines are on the backside of the cases near the #15 bolt on the upper case. Right below that on the lower case are the same markings . Looks like someone ingrave them by hand with a tool or something. Quote

252wheelieking Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 No way man. Your talking about cooking two engines because of float height? You run pinned for long periods of time? yes I cooked two engines because of float height & the 1 psi. loss in 6mins. That was acceptable & still a small air leak... Yes I run my shee WOT throttle until it's almost maxed out then I back off to 3/4 throttle. I ride back roads, alot of long straights & wide open fields cause I live in the country. I sat down & thought about everything i did & didnt do. Then it clicked that last year when I was at busco my right carb was leaking fuel from the over flow drain tube. So I adjusted the right float by eye so it would stop leaking. I pushed the float tab up to much & it restricted the carb from getting the proper amount of fuel. So as long as i ride around about half throttle it would be fine, but at WOT & hard accleration the engine would run the right carb dry. Reason is because the float level was incorrect & not allowing the right float bowl to full properly. ANOTHER LESSON LEARNED Quote
