06bluebanshee Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 Hello guys. I have a 2006 Banshee with about 30 hours of ride time on it. I have PC pipes, V force 3 reeds, stock carbs, K&N filter with open air box, everthing else is stock. I'm thinking about getting a dune/play port done and maybe adding some 21cc domes and a cool head. My question is if i get the porting done, do I need to get my crank welded? Or will it be okay? How much horsepower will I have then? Thanks guys!! Quote
possum Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 U dont have to but i spun mine out of true drag racing with a stock motor. Might as well do it once u got the juggs off. Just split the cases and pop the crank out. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 My first crank let go with a bone stock motor that had a set of pipes on it. Every bike I have had since then gets the crank welded before I do anything else to it. It is cheap insurance, and that way you don't damage any of the go fast goodies that you have spent good money on. I firmly believe that anything high performance should be built reliable BEFORE it is built fast. Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 yes, always weld the stock crank if you have the time and money. Quote
