i got some 240 main jets laying here and i have 310s in it and its running way too rich i just worked on one with the same pipes as mine and had 220s and it ran good i checked the plugs they were brown but i also have a chariot head with 19cc domes and boyseen reeds and im running dual k and ns right off the carbs so my question is...should i even try using these jets?

Do a plug chop and buy all the jets in between the 310s you have and the 240s. Instead of just guessing, do it the right way and buy a box of plugs and some jets.

I agree with the others. Do it the right way. You can get it really close without chopping, and simply reading the plug. 240 from 310 is too big of a drop imo. Better to go in smaller increments. Once you get it closer, I would do the plug chop for fine tunning.
