I recently traded my snowmobile for a 99 banshee, it had been sitting for a while so I figured I would give it a go threw and try to get it running right. I put fresh gas in 32:1 mix yamalube, new plugs, cleaned the carbs pretty good did not have a screwdriver skinny enough to fit in the pilot jet so I just sprayed some carb cleaner in there. it usually starts second kick but then sometimes when you put the choke in it idles really high and sometimes it will run good on one cylinder and the other one puffs out smoke then dies. I checked the compression and there both around 120 cold cause I dident want it idling high for al ong time, so should be good there? I am just trying to figure out why it wont idle right, still has tors installed and I really dont have money for the delete kit right now wondering if that is the problem or if it just running lean, maybe pilot is clogged? has compression and spark stock motor with fmf fatty pipes and power core 2 silencers and k & n air filter, has 280 main jets and unsure of pilots cause couldent get at them and im pretty sure its at 3rd needle position with 1.5 turn on air screw and suggestions guys? thanks

Get a screw driver for the pilots. There are tiny holes on the sides of them that need to be clear. While they are out see what size they are. Most pipes like a 27.5 pilot. Sync the carbs while you are working on them, set float level. Make sure tors "brain" is unpluged, left frame under tank. Service manual is on tech page

Ok I have had this problem get a small screw driver first off, then go on e-bay buy carb kits and rebuild them 280 mains should be fine. for some reason even if I clean the carbs good it still runs funny so buy the kits and rebuild them should solve your problem. its not getting enough gas that why when you choke it it reves high cuz you are cutting off the air . also check your fuel valve make sure you have no clogs if there is a filter change it or get rid of it. hope that helps

I agree forgot about that snip the pigtails from the tors off and twist them together and get rid of the little tors brain box and wrap it up with blk tape

thanks for responces guys I really appreciate it, can you just unplug the tors brain plug and thats all you have to do? dont have to worry about taking them completely out and then adding a idle screw? and I dont have a synch tool so should I just eyeball it? I already adjusted them cause one was a little off and they move at the same time and close at the same time. thanks again Jon

Don't buy a carb "kit". You get jets you don't need, stock main & pilot. Go to Sudco or Carb Parts Warehouse and buy float needle&seat& o-ring, gasket.

cool I just allway got the kits is it cheaper at sudco carbparts . thanks for the info
