Broke_Banshee Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 What or some thing that I can do or use to help my banshee from over heating check your water pump, use engine ice,jet it correctly, dont idle too long Quote
Jereme6655 Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 And also learn to ride...no offense....but watching my temp I've noticed if I lug my motor it will build unwanted heat....whereas getting it up on the pipe would drop the temp Quote
Azryll Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 what everyone else said, impeller, larger radiator, make sure you not idling and have proper jetting. Check for any air leaks, broken impeller, or not going fast enough to get air thru the radiator. Has it always done this or just started? Do any Mods that might of changed things? Quote
jdog Posted February 8, 2012 Author Report Posted February 8, 2012 That's how I mess my first one up trying to keep from doing it again Quote
wfobasheeboy Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 First off check for broken impeller do this by checking coolant flow with the radiator cap off & looking to see if the coolant is moving with the motor at about 2,000 RPM or pulling the pump cover. Make sure you not idling to long and you have the proper jetting. Good upgrade Billet impeller & billet pump gear, over sized radiator, using engine ice. Here is a site sponsor that you can get the billet impeller & gear from. http://mullengineering.com/ Quote
willardwright59 Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 That's how I mess my first one up trying to keep from doing it again I pretty much built a secondary radiator. If you look up "1998 banshee build" there will be a link to a pic of it. Keeps it at or below 180° at all times Quote
