My banshee is idling very very high for a 20seconds and then gets back to a normal idle, any idea where to start? Didnt even try a full ride cause trails are far from home.

I'm willing to tune it myself, I've read some good info here already. I'll be trying to play with pilot screw and pilot jet if its not getting better. I did search and there is not really info on this particular problem..

Banshee has T5, Reed 3, 4 mil, Cool heads, 36mm Mikuni.

Just bought it and it needs some love :)

thanks

I had a similar problem after I installed my billet thumb throttle. What it ended up being was it was taking a few seconds for the throttle cable to vibrate back down into the "idle" position after starting it. Try lubing up the cable, and make sure both of your slides are seating when you release the throttle quickly. You should hear a "clack". Make sure you're hearing BOTH, not just one of them.

It makes a lot of sense!! I'll try that before messing with the jets. I'm not hearing the clack sound for now so it might be it.

But I'm pretty sure the tune is off because the last owner was stupid; I just found out that radiator was full of 90% water/coolant mix and its been -15-35 degrees for 2 weeks..There was ice at the top of the rad :(

Rad does not seem to be cracked though..I hope the engine is fine.

anything on a good winter tune/jets?
