So I have the head and jugs off banshee and pistons out, top ring on right side broke towards exhaust side no major scarring on piston or cylinder top of piston ok, loose bore broke top piston ring just bought this thing previous owner went way to long with stock bore I found pieces of the ring in the exhaust pipe, but not all of them did they blow out the exhaust or are they floating aroung in the crankcase? , do I try to flush out the crankcase or split the cases, I am mechanically enclined built caterpillar engines for years, splitting case looks like a nightmare not made of money things are tight, but then again dont want a piece of crap to take out a crand or rod bearing or ruining my ny new top end either advise would be appreciated Thank you

tear it down and inspect it,have the crank checked for runout/true,bore an hone with new pistons. You can go broke saving money just remember that.If you do it rite you will never regret it,these are very easy to work on but having someone banshee specific help you is priceless

If you can build a CAT engine then your obj out 60 times over qualified. Is not hard at all. Hell.....if you've go the fluids drained I bet most could get the motor tore down for rebuild and have the cases split within 30-45 minutes
