I tore it apart the cltuch was fried, i ordered a new one and tired to install but something went south as of now i have about a 1/4 of slop in the basket with all of the fibers and steels installed any help would be greatly appriechiated Quote
sheerider11 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) The pressure plate isn 't lined upstraight. Keep moving it till it slides on. Edited January 16, 2012 by sheerider11 Quote
Larry's Shee Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Did you run trans dry? What all did you replace? Was it all stock? Pre-soak plates? Quote
kx450racer15 Posted January 16, 2012 Author Report Posted January 16, 2012 Did you run trans dry? What all did you replace? Was it all stock? Pre-soak plates? trans was full of fluid, yes pre soaked plates i just put springs fibers and steels in i got rid of the 1/4 gap but now the last plate is half in the basket and half out and when the clutch engages it can pop out it will roll in neutral but when you ut it in gear the clutch has zero effect thanks Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 the pressure plate is not engaged into the innerhub correctly, take the bolts and springs out and remove the pressure plate.. spin it alil at a time till the pressure plate engages the hub correctly. there should be no gap between the last fiber and the pressure plate. also make sure to adjust the clutch actuator arm correctly or the clutch will not disengage correctly. if ya dont have one already go get yourself a clymers manual and read up!
