so just got a set of flotek ported cylinders of a member on here, my problem is as im getting the jetting closer to where it should be the stater side cylinder is is getting to lean while the other is rich, its also is idling weak and not puffing smoke when i crack it like the other side. i made sure the carbs were clean, synced, cross over tube is there when i changed the jets, its running clean pulls good off the line and throughout with no popping or hesitation but still one leaner looking plug and poor ilde. i did a leak down test, started at 6psi came back 10 min later and it was at 5psi( witch is good right?) ran great before, all i did was swap cylinders and jets. what do i do now?

You might do a leak-down test again and see if its changed. You can also spray carb cleaner around the cylinders, gasket surfaces, head, stator, etc and see if it bogs when you spray it. If it does, you have a leak somewhere. Start swapping parts side to side and see if the problem jumps to the other cylinder. Swap your carbs side to side and see if the other side goes lean. Swap plug wires, reeds, etc.

i just went and pulled my reeds, there boyson carbon fiber dual stage on stack cages. theres about a 1/64" gap between the first and second stage reeds and the carbon fiber is turning white on the edges, could that be it?

I would check the carb boots too.

Boots are good new with the swap.

just wondering if my throttle cable is seperating from the steel elbow at the carb top could air get in there?

ok swapped everything back and forth one at a time(besides carbs, stock) double checked boots, put my buddies set of working stock reeds in. it runs the same. took it all apart did a leak down lost 2psi in 10min. so whats left? stator side crank seal sucking the air in but not blowing out? maybe the choke plunger letting air in? i sprayed all the possible areas with carb cleaner besides the crank seal, didnt bog. am i on the right track? any other ideas? might just take it all apart split the cases and reseal everything, its an 03 never been split

stock stroke, flotek dune port, put the timing at stock for now, stock carbs 340, 4th richest clip, 30 pilots, stock reeds, (chariot reeds and billet intake on the way) still off on the jetting but not to worried about that right now

Check that cap gasket on lean side is good. Check that both emulsion tubes and needles are same. Main jet washer and slosh baffels in? Float height same? Can get extra long hose for crossover and swap carbs side to side. Closely inspect float valve and seat on rich side, maybe leaking bit.
