hello everyone, my 2000 banshee has started leaking oil out of the clutch vent. It is not leaking out of the tube, however it is leaking between the nipple and the engine case. Is there a bad o ring? Im new to banshee's and have never taken one out.

Would a block off plate be the best solution for fixing this?

thanks

yep, unfortunately it installs from inside the cover.

If you are careful you might be able to remove the cover without damaging the gasket. I've used the same gasket many times over, just be sure to grease up the gasket prior to installing.

Personally I wouldn't use RTV instead of a gasket, worth a try though...

you can re use the gasket most of the time, put some rtv on it as well and it will be fine. If the gasket is in bad shape I would just replace it too, its $10. Im running 10w-50 oil and it doesnt leak haha.

You don't need that vent at all. Almost all aftermarket clutch covers have it removed. I solder it shut on all the covers I have. You can get by just fine with the rear vent.
