Water impeller touching plate

Hi guys, I've pull my water pump apart to find that the plastic impeller is rubbing on the metal plate cover. See picture

Should I be replacing this with a new one or is this normal? First time pulling it apart so in not sure if it's ok or not.

No that's not. It's only hitting on that one side so it's not straight. Get a after market one.I have the pro design, no complaints as of yet.

go with a aluminum one i exploded two stock ones . I run a mull gear to ill never go back to stock junk.

there isnt anything that keeps it perfectly centered. it kinda floats in there, some rubbing will happen. replace with new stock and enjoy. theres a reason why its plastic.

I'm thinking of getting the chariot standard impeller.

Bike isn't highly modified. Fmf's, jets, k&n filter, carbon reeds.
