My frame is a 97 but IDK if my engine is that model. Because I bought a stator for a 95-06 banshee. And the old stator that was on it is smaller, and the plugs look a little different. So maybe I have the older style engine. Here is the pics of the plugs, the one with the orange on the inside is the new one. And the other one is the stator that came off of it. Quote

YES YOU HAVE THE OLDER MODEL I WISH I COULD TELL YOU THE NEWER ONE WOULD WORK BUT IT WONT AND TRY TO STAY WITH A ORIGINAL STYLE STATOR CUZ MOST AFTERMARKET STATORS HAVE ISSUES ! Quote

Yea that would work but I'm the new stator pick-up is rubbing my flywheel. Quote
wfobasheeboy Posted October 16, 2011 Report Posted October 16, 2011 Looks to me the pins in the new & old conter are the same. So I would try to pull the pins out of the new conter & put them back in the old conter. That way you do any soldering. And if the pins are diffrent the just cut & solder as stated above. Quote

The new one will plug into my other plug. And the new stator is wider than my stock one. Are the aftermarket stators supposed to be wider than the stock one? Quote
bansheesandrider Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Both of those plugs are the late square style, the difference is because one is OEM and one is aftermarket. If it plugs together, it will work. The early round style is round and will not plug into anything but the round connector. Quote

Coupelx Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 and you need to adjust the pickup, thats why its rubbing. take your drivers license or credit card and set the gap. to one of the nubs on the flywheel. Quote
