Put 290 mains and kept stock pilots and put it back together but it would sputter when hitting the gas passed half throttle so I eventually took the airbox lid off and it ran great..the only thing I have is the toomeys so should I just go down to 280 mains or 270.. the bike wouldn't do anything but bog with 290s

Sounds like those 290 are too rich, so if I were you, I would lean it out untill it runs perfect.

try the 280's then try the 270's come on man!!

 

i'd also suggest ditching the lid and buying the plate to use the clamp on filter, then buy the toomey jet kit for their pipes. you will really like it after that
