Im doing a yfz/yz465 hybrid and i finally cracked open the engine.I have not seen these kind of reeds in forever!.Did not even know it was metal until i dropped it on the table and it made that "dink". I was like WTF!

I bet they are stainless. Aluminum bends too easily and would have a hard time fluttering without becoming distorted and likely corrode easily with the fuel. Stainless has decent elasticity, good memory and excellent resistance to corrosion. I bet they last a long time!

I just checked,they are stainless.Im sure they last forever,at the cost of performance.

Yea they last a long time and when they finally break(as ALL metal does when it is continually flexed back and forth) you will be sending pieces of metal into your cylinders and piston and head. Change them out ASAP to some kind of fiber reeds!
